Vacuum Roadshow | 14th June 2017 | University of StrathclydePhotonex Scotland Roadshow
VISIT THE SECOND SCOTLAND ROADSHOW FOR VACUUM TECHNOLOGIES

What's going on:

There is an exhibition dedicated to vacuum technologies
There are Technology Talks
There is free training: Basics of Vacuum and Leak Detection
...and it is co-located with Photonex Roadshow

THE EXHIBITION

This is a great opportunity to meet with industry suppliers. Get to the in-depth detail with a specialist face-to-face - it will enable you to make a better informed purchasing decision.

We invite you to join us for an exceptional,
inter-disciplinary event that presents so many opportunities to learn about vacuum technology.

Learn more about vacuum technology, techniques, equipment, systems and instrumentation.

Designed for learning: Choose the right
technology for your next project.

TECHNOLOGY TALKS

In parallel with Vacuum Roadshow Exhibition there is a programme of Vacuum Technology Talks. These will follow the successful format established at Heriot-Watt University last year and will feature Invited Speaker Prof Des Gibson, who will speak about how new advances in functional thin films and nano-structural control are playing an increasing role in realisation and miniaturisation of sensor and imaging concepts in applications such as medical, environmental and industrial.

THE PROGRAMME

12.00
Thin film research – key enabler for novel sensor and imaging applications.
Professor Des Gibson, Institute of Thin Films, Sensors & Imaging, University of the West Scotland -

12.30
Considerations for the selection of precision positioners in a vacuum.
Mike Cottee, PI, UK -

13.00
Nanostructures made by Oblique Angle Deposition for Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering Applications.
Hin On Chu, Institute of Thin Films, Sensors & Imaging, University of the West of Scotland -

TRAINING

How often do you get a chance to attend free training on your doorstep! Join us for this special opportunity arranged in conjunction with Leybold.

14.00
Basics of Vacuum and Leak Detection:
Dr Graham Rogers, Leybold UK

Introduction to the fundamental theory of vacuum technology and the operating principles behind wet and dry vacuum pumps and leak detectors, with a UK exclusive introduction to Leybold’s new ECODRY forevacuum pump and Gamma ion pumps for research and development.

Please register on-line to attend training (during the registration process select appropriate ticket type) or call us on +44 (0)1372 750555 to book your place.

LEARN ABOUT CO-LOCATED PHOTONEX

The exhibition will embrace the multidisciplinary nature of photonics with components, instruments and systems on display for astronomers, biologists, biomedical scientists, chemical engineers, chemists, electronic engineers, food scientists, instrument builders, life sciences researchers, physicists and many others.

The practical application of photonics will be the focus of many exhibitors
